Welcome!

Our goal is to build a community for the chronically homeless, comprised of either stand alone studio bedrooms or studio bedrooms within a housing structure (model studio bedroom pictured above). This takes a vast network of support: volunteers, skilled builders, and generous donors.

Thank you for considering or committing to funding a studio bedroom (approximately 96 square feet) for our unsheltered neighbors living outside. All of our units will have a small front porch.

Some individuals and groups do not desire to build a studio bedroom but rather fund one. With funds from the Studio Bedroom Funding Program, we can supply materials to our volunteer and professional builders.  

The Studio Bedroom Funding Program allows us to secure the funds and make those funds available when our builders have been recruited. This program began in February 2022. When a studio bedroom is built, the donor’s name or names will be inscribed on a plaque that will be permanently secured on the outside of the bedroom cabin. Individuals have sponsored cabins. 

So, how can I/we make our payment to fund a studio bedroom?  

Donors can issue a check in the amount of $10,000.00 (ten thousand dollars), made payable to Driftwood Housing. 

Mail check to Driftwood Housing, P. O. Box 41176, Mobile, AL 36640. 

Driftwood Housing will send donors a tax-deductible receipt.
