We are a growing group of concerned citizens on the Gulf Coast who care for our unsheltered neighbors.
We will celebrate our fourth anniversary on February 7th, 2026. In that time-frame, we secured 7-acres of land in Semmes, Alabama. This property was donated to Driftwood Housing by the Julian E. Marx Foundation Trust.
Our goal is to build afordable homes in a campus-style community with the help of volunteers and student workforce development groups. One of our end-game goals is to provide an opportunity for volunteerism that results in a sense of service to our community and to mankind.
It is our pleasure to help our great City in any way that we can to give displaced neighbors in Mobile a hand up. In cooperation with the city of Mobile and other homeless services, such as Veteran's Recovery, we can make a real difference in the lives of our neighbors that are living outside and in danger. By building housing and assisting with emergency sheltering during inclement weather events, we can provide a needed service to Mobile and communities along the Gulf Coast.

In cooperation with Mobile County's Emergency Management Center, the City of Mobile, and other churches and charitable organization, Driftwood Housing provides ongoing involvement in collaborative efforts to shelter unhoused neighbors during inclement weather events.
We couldn't do what we do without our volunteers. Please consider becoming a volunteer. Contact us!

We are a growing group of concerned citizens on the Gulf Coast who love and care for our unsheltered neighbors. We are a humane society for people.
Our current goal is to develop a campus-style, sober living community in Eunice Drive Estates, Semmes, Alabama, to house and shelter displaced neighbors. We have enlisted assistance from Third Lens, our Project Manager, to help us fulfill this goal.
Driftwood Housing, located in Mobile, Alabama, launched as a nonprofit corporation in February, 2022.
We received our tax-exempt designation letter from the IRS in June, 2022.
In 2024, Driftwood Housing became a member of the Alabama Rescue Services Association (ARSA). As a member of ARSA in good standing, Driftwood Housing secured Alabama sales tax exemption on all item purchases. This exemption will save us 10% sale tax on all building materials.
